Contemporary Garden Design

This design was developed alongside the Client’s rebuilding of the house over a two year period. The materials complement those used on the house and in some cases informed materials used within the renovations internally too. The planting is set in bold strips giving a changing view as you move around the space. Every view point has been considered. Where new materials can add something to the design it is sought out. The composite decking is made of recycled plastic and wood waste and the colour was chosen to closely match the window frames of the house.

Sustainable Garden Design

This sustainable contemporary home and its garden were designed alongside one another enabling opportunities to be as environmental as possible. Water from the roof is used in a wildlife pond as a dipping pool for the vegetable area. While spoil from the paths and other building works created a ribbon of banks sown with wild flowers to reflect the surrounding South Downs. A band of prairie plants has been planted to run across and through the bank to provide a splash of colour filling the gap after the native spring and summer wildflowers have gone over.
